Chest-heavy breeds
French Bulldogs, Pugs and Corgis have deep chests relative to their back length. Size by chest; if the back is long, choose stretchy fabrics that won't bunch.
Long-body breeds
Dachshunds and Corgis often need a size up for back length. Look for adjustable straps and a short belly cut.
Toy breeds
For Pomeranians, Chihuahuas and Yorkies, measure under the fur and pick light, soft fabrics. An XS that fits well is far better than a loose S.
