Dog clothes size chart

Chest girth decides the size. Measure the widest part of your dog's chest, add about 2 inches (5 cm) for comfort, then find the matching size below.

Size calculator

Enter your dog's chest girth (widest part, behind the front legs).

Your recommended size will appear here.

How to measure

  1. 1. Chest: around the widest part, just behind the front legs. Two fingers should fit under the tape.
  2. 2. Neck: around the base of the neck, where a collar sits.
  3. 3. Back length: from between the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.

Frequently asked questions

What if my dog is between two sizes?

Size up for coats, raincoats and pajamas, which need room to move. Size down for stretchy knits and t-shirts.

Should I use weight or chest to choose a dog clothing size?

Chest girth. Weight is only a rough guide – a 20 lb Frenchie and a 20 lb Beagle have very different chests.

Do I need to add room for a harness?

Yes. If your dog wears a padded harness under a coat, add about 3 inches to the chest measurement instead of 2.
